Special economic zone maqpoondas
1) The main objective of the project is to attract local and foreign investors in medium and large scale industries in the strategically located special economic zone.
2) The development of SEZ includes high quality infrastructure, best location and clustering of industries will lead to sectoral development and organized growth of industries. 3) The project will create 10,000 direct employment opportunities, that will considerably overcome the unemployment issue from the region

The prinicipal objectives of the project are to provide factory accommodation to small industries at suitable sites with facilities of infrastructure and there by create the necessary atmosphere for advancement of industries. - As industries locate nearer to each other in an industrial zone they will be better able to use the goods and services of one another so they become interdependent and complimentary. - They also help in shifting industries from congested areas and facilitate the disposal of industries and in the backward region of Gilgit-Baltistan and such type of industrial zones will serve as center of industrial activities and as a development. The short term and long term objectives of the project are as under: - Accelerate the industrial growth. - To promote industries based on local resources. - Rapid development of small and medium industries. - Attracting and promoting public/private sector investment and involvement. - To generate employment. - Development of enterpreneurial skills among people belonging to different social groups and communities. - Improve economic performance of industries, factories and work shops. - Encourage local investors and foreign companies to invest in the region. - Development of private industrial areas will be encouraged. Thus, Industrial zone can positively influence the socio-economic development and industrialization of the region. The zone will also align over industrial direction according to the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and its potentials.

The main objective is to control unfair labour practices of the workers through proper implementation of labour inspection and to create a friendly environment in the work places. - to hire the both male and female labour inspectors for inspection of industrial, commercial establishment in the region to implement the labour laws. - To impart capacity building of both male and female labour inspectors and staff. - To conduct the workshops for trade unions, employers and other stackeholders to aware about the workers and employers. * To develop labour policy for GB. * To review labour laws. * To celebrate labour day.
