INDUSTRIES,COMMERCE & LABOUR (ICL)

The Government of Pakistan established Industries Department in 1962 under the administrative Control of Commissioner Gilgit Baltistan with the objective to promote industrialization in the region, And in 1982, the Minerals Department was also established and merged to Industries Department under the administrative control of development Commissioner. In 2006, Industries Department from separated from Planning & Development Department and merged into Tourism, Youth, Culture & Environment under one secretary. In 2010 the Minerals, Industries, Commerce & Labour Department was also separated from Tourism, Youth & Culture Department and started its activities as a separate entity. Meanwhile, the Minerals, Industries, Commerce & Labour Directorate was also established. In 2013 the Directorate of Industries, Commerce & Labour GB has started its activities as a separate entity.
